Things to remember befor submitting webDirectories

You may be planning to do promoition of your website,The best way of promoting and increading serps is to submit too webdirectories,You all know that submitting to directories increases traffic ans pagerank by the time,The more quality of directory you re submitting the more you have chance of good placement in search engines

Here regarding directory submission i must advice you following steps befor submitting to any webdirectory

Check the page rank of a webdirectory you are submitting,Higher the page rank of a directory , the higher are the chances for your website doing well, There are Three types of submission,hope you know,paid,free and reciprocal-

Now if you are submitting to free directories and doing just one way linking then i must say that you have to wait atleast 6 months or 1 year for thous free directories to select or reject your webpage,I think its useless submitting to Free webdirectories,why would one directory owner give you a link for nothing!There are some good ones too who are generous and index your website fast,but 1 out of million!!I think its just like wasting your time on Crap!!so my advice dont go for free directory submission!!

And if you are doing a reciprocal link exchange then you must have to be careful to check if the directory you are submitting has a good reputation,Bad reputation or a virus generated directory can harm your website or even ban your website from search engines

And if you are doing a paid but one way linking then i must say that check the pagerank,fake or valid! backlinks from google of yahoo..and other important information,You can do it through various free tools present on Internet

So always be careful of submitting to directories,One more thing i must like to say,that higher pagerank is not very important factor,For example i have submitted to a paid directory which has a pagerank 0,buti was very impressed by its google and yahoo back links and its reputation,so i paid for that! Search engines are very much attracted to such web directories who have done well in the past and now have no page rank but they have lots of backlinks!!

So i think while submitting to directories you must take care of-
 
Its valid pagerank
(Doest matter if a webdirectory has a 0 pagerank but the rest is excellent)
Its google backlinks
its yahoo backlinks
Number of pages indexed by a search engine
the value of domain

Now the paid directories with very good repo are very costly,no one can afford except multinational of big guys,For a normal person,i must say that search for those directories which have less price but very good reputation as i explained above

Giving you one more example,I have submitted one of my website to just few very known and famous forums,very good reputation and i have never done any directory submission for that particular website and few months after it was right on top of 10 and getting huge number of visits by google...webmasters tool says it has just 100 back links...i wonder you know why is this so? Beacsue the quantity does not matters but the quality does!!One nice link can give you website the stand for whole life!!
